ANOMALY
ANOMALY

‘With moments of exquisite and lyrical writing and a plot ablaze with dramatic tension, Anomaly is an assured and moving debut from a writer to watch.’

- NSW Literary Awards

‘An utterly gripping survival story that will have you turning pages well into the night.’

- The Age

‘Featuring relatable adolescent characters in a horrifying future, Anomaly builds towards epic intimations that should have younger readers hanging out for the next volume’.

- The Sydney Morning Herald

‘Describing a monster in books rarely ever works to raise the goosebumps on one’s arm, to make them fear the dark they read in, and reconsider opening a book before going to sleep. This is yet another reason why Anomaly is a must-read’.

- Story Links

‘Fast-paced, compelling and confidently plotted … a gripping page-turner’.

- Books+Publishing

‘Lord writes confidently into the genre, creating a world that is clearly speculative and yet filled with anxieties and fears grounded in reality’.

- Readings

The award-winning first book in the Children of Fate trilogy, Anomaly will force you to question destiny, memory and how far you would go to survive.

Piper Manning survived the apocalypse. Barely.

She recovered from the virus that killed millions, but it left behind a new, uncontrollable power that’s forced her to isolate herself from others — for their sake.

Then an injured boy shows up at her mountain hideaway. And what hurt Seth is out to get her, too.

Now she’s on the run, risking everything for a shot at an actual future. But to get there, she’ll have to trust a stranger, control her abilities … and face her ghosts.

Because the end of the world was just the beginning.
